My Journey

Ok, I know I am late to this one but I recently played Journey by thatgamecompany in one sitting and lets just say, I'm speechless. This game was such a joy to play. It was relaxing but yet still engaging enough to hold my attention from beginning to end. I know this game has been praised over and over for many reasons, but I just needed to write down how my journey played out.

CENSORED

SOPA. PIPA. What a mess. I'm sure I don't have to explain what these bills are. The internet has thoroughly taken care of that. Although, I did have to do some research as to the difference between these two bills. PIPA was proposed earlier, but placed on hold. Then SOPA came about and PIPA sneaked back into the spotlight. The difference? Let me put it this way; PIPA is a really bad idea and SOPA is downright scary.

PIPA has mainly the same issues as SOPA; too vague and threatens the first amendment. Although PIPA is to a lesser degree, it should not be thought of as less important. Many are worried that legislators will look at PIPA as a suitable substitute for SOPA in comparison. In fact, it almost looks like they made SOPA so outrageous on purpose to make PIPA look good.

Have I ever mentioned that I hate politics?

All I really want to say here is that I am firmly against SOPA and PIPA and will continue to fight censorship. And no, I'm not just saying this so I can torrent games, music, and movies. In fact I'm against pirating. But these bills do not address this in the best way. In fact it's the worst way! Do whatever you can to help by checking out these links!

Thinking Out Loud: Oh, The Horror!

So I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted. In retrospect it probably wasn’t a good idea to start a blog and move out of my parent’s house at the same time. But anywho, horror games! I love them! Survival horror is one of my favorite genres for many reasons including puzzle solving, managing scarce resources, and generally messed up storylines. But here’s an interesting fact that I was thinking about the other day: I hate horror movies.

The PAX East Experience

Wow, what a show! PAX East was simply put the BEST con I've ever been to! There was so much to do and so many people! It was an ocean of geek lore and awesome in the palm of my hands. This is definitely a show that I will be going to every year!
