And So It Begins...

Hello Internet! I decided to let myself get swept up in the current of this sea of blogs. My purpose for this blog is to express my views and opinions when it comes to video games and their culture. I am by no means an expert, but I do aspire to be a game designer someday. I am excited to be able to express myself and get feedback from the internet for my thoughts. I've been a gamer since my brother got the original NES for Christmas with Super Mario Bros. (I mainly blame my love for video games on him.) And what better way to express my love for this medium than to share my thoughts with you!

The idea of even starting a blog came from reading other video game blogs and listening to podcasts. They have inspired me in many ways, made me look at things from different angles, and helped me appreciate how gaming culture has evolved. I hope you enjoy my articles and please feel free to leave any comments or questions. Today, I introduce Live to Play.

  1. Being someone who has just started into the video game blog world just stay true to yourself! Don't let anyone tell you how to feel about a certain video game or that your opinion does not matter. It is always great to have another idea or opinion on video games that is lost from most of our current gamers.

  2. @Gaming in Public - Thanks for the advice! I write for a gaming site and I'm afraid to include too much of my opinion for the sake of being professional. I figured this would be a great outlet for my opinions and also appropriate.

  3. I agree 100% with Gaming in Public: you have an opinion so use it, simply because you're entitled to it.

And with that obvious statement out of the way, welcome to the world of blogging. I'm already digging your simple but effective theme and, since you're kind enough to read (and link, I see...) my blog I'll be reading yours. Good luck with establishing yourself within the community -- it takes time, it's always a learning curve, but it's one of the best things you can do so hopefully you don't end up quitting like so many others have in the past.

So yeah, welcome, and bring on your future posts.

    1. I was looking back at my blog and saw how you said that hopefully I don't end up quitting... =P I do plan on writing again, I just need to kick myself in the butt! I think that part of my problem is that I never enjoyed writing, but I'm so passionate about games that I WANT to write about them! lol! I'll see ya around! =)

  4. @ Steven O'Dell - Thanks a bunch! I recently found your blog through experiencepoints.net and I quite enjoy it! Check back here soon; I'll be posting an article that wraps up 2010 somehow. And thank you for commenting on my theme! I'm too embarrassed to say how long I tinkered with it before finally deciding =P

  5. Well perhaps you can transfer that embarrassment onto me sometime as I'm thinking of refreshing my theme in the near future...
